M&S food really is to my liking. This store is quite small so sometimes stocks of what I want are missing, but most things food wise are available. The car park is very small so becomes full on busy days.
Nice shop well stocked. Only the parking is a problem.
Can always rely on M&S for a lovely dinner after an extra busy day. My logic this evening was a healthy dinner & several sweet treats!! Knew I shdn't go to bakery part after skipped lunch but willpower low where sugar concerned. Back to moderation tomorrow. Thanks M&S Hertford.
Grubby shop frequently poorly stocked. The only saving grace is that the staff are always pleasant and helpful.
Visiting the store today, a lady working there began to close the the shutters on all fridges at 3:50 with the store full of shoppers. When another member of staff began opening them for a shopper who asked, the eager staff member who couldn't wait to finish her shift began to pull more shutters down and undermine the younger employees who were doing their best to serve customers. People pay more for good service, something which M&S generally prides itself on and usually meets customer expectations. When I asked the lady closing the shutter if she thought it was early she replied "we're closed" and proceeded to close the shutter of the fridge I was about to pick an item from. I then told her it's not 4pm, we still have 5 mins. She told me it is 4, then proceeded to show me her watch and say "see, 3:56".Now it is with regret I said to her "that's stupid of you" and she said "we're closed". Cash registers were open and luckily another employee apologiesed on behalf of the store to myself and another customer who also had the shutter closed whilst looking.In my short visit I'm sad to say I feel I do not want to return to a store that my family has favoured for years and some of whom have even worked in.I've no doubt that this employees attitude will eventually see her career at M&S cut short should this behaviour continue, so I'm not asking that this situation has any particular outcome. I do however feel for the other employees so clearly embarrassed by their co-worker. They should not have to apologize because one staff member is too lazy to leave at 4:15.
